About Slots and Rules UK

Slots and Rules UK is an independent reference to how online slots and casino games work, and what the rules in Great Britain mean for the person playing them. Each page covers one term or one rule. It sets out what the thing is, the figures behind it, where it came from and what the regulator's own published rules say. Pages are written to be looked up, cited and returned to.

We cover the mechanics first. That includes return to player (RTP) and how it is measured, volatility and hit frequency, house edge on table games, and how random number generators are tested. We then turn to the terms attached to bonuses: how wagering requirements are calculated, what game weighting, maximum bet and expiry clauses do, and what the rules require of operators when they write those terms. On regulation, we explain what a Gambling Commission (UKGC) licence covers, how age and identity verification works, what the online slot stake limits are, and how affordability and source-of-funds checks fit in. On safer gambling, we explain how GamStop self-exclusion, deposit limits, time-outs and reality checks operate. Wherever we can, we point to the Gambling Commission's own pages, the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP) and the relevant legislation, so readers can check the source for themselves.

The site is written for UK adults who play online slots or casino games now and then and want to understand them. It does not tell anyone how to win. There are no tips, systems, promo codes or casino rankings, because no system changes a game's built-in edge.

Slots and Rules UK is an independent guide. It is not affiliated with LuckCity Casino or any casino operator. It takes no bets, and it does not review or promote casinos. It is for adults aged 18 and over. Gambling is a risk to your money, not a way to earn it. If gambling is causing problems for you or someone close to you, the National Gambling Helpline is free and confidential on 0808 8020 133 (run by GamCare). GamStop lets you self-exclude from all UK-licensed online gambling sites.
